SOLSC: Day 21 Dreaming in haiku

Dreaming in haiku
Counting the syllables
Praying to wake up

Because in the dark
I dreamt all night in haiku.
I knew it was weird

but I couldn’t stop.
All night long, I was counting
through very dark dreams-

A dreamland concert
threatened to ruin my marriage.
Who’s she, you’re kissing?

A chase through caverns
had me quaking in my boots
hiding in shadows -

An observation
gone terribly wrong, sent me
looking for new work-

What pain, torment, and
misery! Can I wake up?
Reality calls...

Warm spring sun awakes -
There’s my man waiting for me
coffee and kisses

Shrug off the dreaming
struggle to stop the counting
of my dream haiku

You took me by surprise! An “extended” haiku :)
I was also in sympathy because the past several mornings I have woken up dreamily worrying over what I can write that day.
You take us through your dream world, with all the shifts and starts that dreams take. Somehow the haiku for quite works for this.

What a brilliant way to convey your dreamscape. Each haiku was one frame of a story. Bravo.

    A story a day.
    I'll try it.
