priming brains for a deeper look at a perfect society
gone awry
There would be no weapons
Everyone would have food
And healthcare
No guns!
We’d all have equal rights,
every one of us, they reply.
Righteous in their belief in
equality
in the possibility of a better world for
all
I am heartened and hopeful.
No naysayers today.
I think we’re through the woods
Then hear a child,
a child, mind you
say his perfect society would have a wall
What for? I ask.
You know, to keep them out, he replies
And then in the next breath declares he’s a
Christian
and his beliefs guide him.
Jesus wept.
